Trek Madone 5.9 Compact H2 Road Bike

/State Of The Art Pro-level Performance

The Trek 5.9 is a game changer. Offering the pro-level performance of the 5 Series OCLV carbon frame with Shimano’s latest groupset - Shimano Ultegra Di2 - bringing electronic shifting to the masses. You have to see and try Ultegra Di2 in action to believe it. Shifting is lightning fast and there’s no need to worry about setting up your gears - even after a mid-race bump - the system automatically adjusts to compensate for knocks it may take in the hustle and bustle of the peloton. Even if you’re not a racer, the feature has got to be worth some bragging rights with your friends!

  • Ultegra Di2 Electronic Shifting
  • Tour de France pedigree
  • High-performance 5 Series OCLV
  • Clean Integration
  • Level One Bike Fit Included (usually £50)
  • Trek Partnership Store Service

James Hewitt - Stephen James Cycles founder and Store Manager - brings his passion for cycling, experience from racing at Elite level, background in Sports Science and working in various aspects of the bike industry to help you find the ideal bike and setup. Come and see him to 'pick his brain', find some great advice and maybe a few top training tips!

/The Punchline

The Trek Madone 5.9 is the choice of the early-adopters. Set yourself apart in performance and the bike you decided to ride with this outstanding machine - high performance, comfortable riding with a state of the art groupset and the little touches that means this bike will bring a smile to your face every time you ride. For example, a speed and cadence sensor can be cleanly integrated into the chain-stay - no more messy cable ties - and Trek’s unrivalled carbon manufacturing means that the bottom bracket bearings can be slotted straight into the frame - fewer components, lighter weight and better performance.

Of the last 12 Tour de France, the Trek Madone has won 9. Today, the technology and expertise that has been refined in the furnace of the professional peloton is available to the rest of us. The 5.2 is the considered choice for the demanding cyclist.

Use the contact form on the right-hand side of this page and we’ll be happy to send through a pdf buyer’s guide explaining the key features of the Madone and where it sits in the range, including graphs and explanations of the various OCLV carbon types that feature in the Trek Madone range.

/Where Does The Madone Name Come From?

Not far from Nice, in the South of France, just outside the village of Menton, negotiate the hairpin over the bridge and hit your stopwatch. 12km later you’ll reach the top of the Col de la Madone, now engrained in cycling’s history as the climb used by Lance Armstrong to test his fitness. If you’re a top pro or elite rider, you may manage to get up in just over half an hour (the record set by Tom Danielson is 30:24), but whatever your time, you’re sure to enjoy the ride on a Trek Madone.
